China's combined exports of textiles, garments and accessories declined 1.91% year-on-year to $267.79 billion during January–November 2025, compared with $273.01 billion in the same period of 2024, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
Textile exports, including yarns, fabrics and related products, increased 0.9% to $130.01 billion, supported by steady demand for industrial, home and technical textiles. However, garment and accessory exports fell 4.4% to $137.79 billion amid weaker international demand, inventory adjustments and shifting sourcing strategies towards lower-cost manufacturing destinations such as Vietnam, Bangladesh and Türkiye.
Meanwhile, China's textile yarn and fabric imports dropped 8.9% to $8.98 billion during the first eleven months of 2025, reflecting increased domestic manufacturing capacity and reduced dependence on imported materials.
The export slowdown highlights ongoing challenges in China's textile and apparel industry, including rising labour costs, geopolitical uncertainties, higher logistics expenses and moderating demand from major markets such as the United States and Europe.
