Tiruppur, one of India’s leading garment manufacturing hubs, will host a domestic garment exhibition from January 3 to 5, 2027. The South India Hosiery Manufacturers Association (SIHMA) and the Tirupur Domestic Garments Manufacturers Association (TIDGMA) will jointly organise the event at the India Knit Fair complex.
The exhibition will showcase garments made for the Indian market. Organisers expect around 115 stalls, bringing manufacturers and buyers together under one roof.
Tiruppur Strengthens Domestic Garment Business
Tiruppur produces T-shirts, innerwear and other apparel worth more than ₹40,000 crore annually for the domestic market. Several leading brands source garments from the city.
According to SIHMA secretary R. Dhamodharan, SIHMA represents nearly 675 manufacturers of garments and innerwear. TIDGMA has around 350 to 400 apparel manufacturers.
The city’s manufacturers produce clothing for both summer and winter seasons. Their products include basic garments, T-shirts, thermal wear and hoodies.
Exhibition to Connect Manufacturers and Buyers
The organisers plan to hold two exhibitions each year. One will take place in Tiruppur for summer wear, while another will be organised in a North Indian city for winter wear.
The event will target retail chains, distributors, private-label buyers, corporate buyers and uniform manufacturers. It aims to create new business opportunities and strengthen connections between domestic garment producers and buyers.
The event logo was unveiled on October 9, and stall registrations opened the same day. The exhibition is expected to support Tiruppur’s domestic apparel industry and expand business opportunities across India.
