Piyush Goyal Invites US Firms to Explore Investment Opportunities in India

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has invited leading US companies to explore investment opportunities in India during a series of meetings in New York.

Goyal met senior executives from Blackstone, Neuberger Berman, Estée Lauder, IBM, General Atlantic and AIA Group. Discussions focused on expanding investments, manufacturing, sourcing and business partnerships in India.

With Blackstone, Goyal discussed opportunities to increase investments and partnerships across key sectors. He also met Neuberger Berman CEO George Walker to discuss India’s growth potential.

At Estée Lauder, discussions covered increased manufacturing and sourcing, along with opportunities in India’s growing beauty and personal care market.

Goyal’s meeting with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna focused on strengthening the company’s engagement in India. Key areas included artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, quantum computing and other emerging technologies.

The minister also discussed deeper investment opportunities with General Atlantic and explored potential cooperation in insurance and financial services with AIA Group.

According to the Commerce Ministry, the meetings covered investment opportunities across financial services, manufacturing, energy, technology and AI. The discussions also aimed to strengthen economic and commercial ties between India and the United States.
