The Odisha government has approved 19 industrial projects worth Rs 3,280.58 crore, with the investments expected to generate around 10,661 jobs across the state.
The approvals were granted at the 150th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The projects will be developed across districts including Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur and Jharsuguda.
Textile and Technical Textile Investments
The textile sector received significant investment commitments. Dollar Industries will invest Rs 125 crore in an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khordha, with an estimated 1,185 jobs.
Sai Workwear will invest Rs 59 crore in a technical textiles unit in Puri. The project is expected to create around 3,650 employment opportunities.
The approved projects also cover food processing, steel downstream, chemicals, plastics, circular economy, biofuel, Global Capability Centres and tourism.
Biofuel and Industrial Projects
Indian Oil Corporation will invest Rs 960 crore to establish Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) facilities with a combined capacity of 39,600 tonnes per annum across eight districts. The project is expected to generate around 760 jobs.
Kineta Global will invest another Rs 170 crore in an 8,250-tonne-per-annum CBG facility in Ganjam.
In the steel downstream sector, three companies will invest a combined Rs 350.81 crore in projects across Debagarh, Sundargarh and Cuttack. These projects are expected to create around 1,100 jobs.
Tata Power will also establish a Global Capability Centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs 54.31 crore.
Five tourism projects have been approved in Ganjam, Puri, Jharsuguda and Koraput. The projects include five-star properties and four-star resorts.
The latest approvals highlight Odisha’s focus on industrial diversification, value addition, supply-chain development and employment generation across different regions.
