Jammu and Kashmir is set to receive a special showcase at the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) 2026. Organisers have proposed a dedicated ‘J&K Day’ to highlight the region’s business, investment, handicrafts, tourism and cultural potential.
PITEX 2026 is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 7. The initiative is expected to create new business opportunities and strengthen trade links between Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
J&K Day to Focus on Business and Investment
A delegation of women entrepreneurs from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) recently met Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha to discuss the Union Territory’s participation.
The delegation was led by Himani Arora, Chairperson of the Regional Fashion Tex Tech Forum, PHDCCI Punjab.
Arora proposed a dedicated day at PITEX to bring J&K entrepreneurs, products and cultural heritage before buyers, investors and business representatives from across India.
The proposed programme will include a business and investment session, an industry buyer-seller roundtable, and a tourism and investment presentation.
Handicrafts and Culture in Focus
The proposed J&K showcase at PITEX 2026 is also expected to feature live demonstrations by artisans. Visitors may also experience traditional J&K cuisine and cultural performances.
A special ‘J&K Cultural Evening’ has also been proposed as part of the programme.
The showcase will provide entrepreneurs and producers from J&K with an opportunity to present traditional handicrafts and other products to a wider market. It will also highlight investment opportunities in tourism and related sectors.
Strengthening Punjab-J&K Business Links
The initiative aims to create direct business and market linkages for entrepreneurs from Jammu and Kashmir.
It could also strengthen commercial ties between Punjab and J&K. At the same time, PITEX visitors will get an opportunity to explore the region’s products, culture and tourism potential.
The proposed participation highlights the growing role of trade exhibitions in connecting regional businesses with buyers, investors and industry representatives.
