India’s apparel industry is expecting strong growth during the ongoing festival season, supported by improving consumer sentiment and a longer shopping window. However, inflation and geopolitical uncertainty continue to influence consumer spending.
For organised apparel companies, the festival season is particularly important. It contributes around 35–40% of annual sales, making the period critical for retailers and fashion brands.
Libas expects its sales to grow by around 20–25% year-on-year during the festival period. The company said consumers remain willing to spend on products that offer quality and value, despite inflationary pressures.
Fabindia is also expecting high single-digit growth. The company said consumer sentiment has improved, with positive trends during Onam and encouraging expectations for the upcoming Puja season.
Madame expects 15–20% year-on-year growth. The brand said shoppers are becoming more value-conscious but continue to spend on fashion when products offer quality, versatility and newness.
Retailers are also seeing consumers begin their festive shopping earlier. Digital platforms are playing an important role in product discovery, followed by store visits and purchases.
Myntra said early trends during Raksha Bandhan and Onam have created positive momentum. The platform is seeing demand across fashion, beauty, jewellery and gifting categories.
With a longer festive period and improving demand, the apparel industry is looking to maintain growth despite inflation and wider economic uncertainties.
